Welcome to McKaylee Brianne Photography! On this side of the internet where we don’t have it all together…and we like it that way! We live in a humble 1940's bungalow in our favorite state with our two wild pups. We laugh at our flaws and are working on embracing imperfection, learning the work / life balance, and are excited to meet you! Want to know more about the WHY behind our business? Click read more!
I have dabbled in photography my whole life after watching my dad bring his camera along on camping and hiking trips when I was younger. My passion for photography really grew when I started photographing my close friends graduation photos in high school. I found so much joy in portraits and hanging out with cool people! I photographed a few families, graduating seniors, and a handful of events.
Fast forward through a four year degree at a university in my home town studying to be an art educator, where I felt a call to teach but it just wasn’t the right time. There I only took a few photo classes and found myself bored with the traditional projects involving objects and landscapes.
Fast forward again to our wedding day!!! I absolutely LOVED our photographer and loved watching her work to create such a beautiful and seamless day for us. That got me thinking about how much I missed photographing people… I missed the creative outlet and the joy I found in photographing so many special moments for people I was close to. SO with that I decided to dust off my camera, invest in some new lenses and start an instagram page. I had no expectations...Just a camera and some friends who were willing to run around the hills of Idaho with me as I practiced. That same year I booked my first ever wedding and that is when I felt it.. The overwhelming JOY and realization that I get to be part of such special moments. I get to be there for the tears and the smiles on their biggest days!!
Through struggles and successes, I have been professionally capturing moments, little or big, for about seven years!!!
I’ve learned a lot about myself, made many friends and had a front row seat to such happy moments in peoples’ lives.
I wouldn’t trade this profession for anything else.
